The Cheraw Fire Department plans to host the first ever Regional Recruit Course beginning in October. The
courses will run consecutively starting with 1152, First Aid / CPR, Haz Mat Awareness, Haz Mat Operations
and conclude with FFI. There will be a three day pause between courses to allow for test grading.
Unfortunately, with the way the class will run, no make up test will be allowed to stay in "this" program,
however, if a student retest by SCFA policy they may be able to complete with another course later. We are
asking each department that has student enrolled to sponsor them with a T shirt and black BDU pants which
we will obtain. We plan to run this as a recruit class which means uniforms in class and a 30 min work period
before class. The course will be held predominately on Tue and Thur with a few Sat along the way.
Additional students will be accepted to complete this training until it is full. An example would be that you
already have 1152 but you need the rest, you can join us at the next leg and ride it out to the finish.
To register I need the students name, department name and contact information and T shirt size. Each
student should be prepared to purchase two T shirts at a cost of about $15.00 I would like to have a cookout
and graduation ceremony for those completing the hold recruit program. Any donations towards this and
maybe plagues will be greatly appreciated! You can e-mail the names are call the Cheraw Fire Department
at 537-5941. You must furnish all PPE and SCBA for your students. Deadline for registration is 9/20
